Jenny & Jesenia CrossFit Transformation

Welcome Jenny and Jesenia to Rogue Valley CrossFit

March 2016 – Transformation Challenge Results

Jen and Jesenia have made it through the 3 month transformation challenge with flying colors! The before and after pictures prove it!

They have both lost inches from their waist and hips, decreased their body fat by 3-4% and also lost 10 pounds each.

They stuck to the CrossFit eating for wellness methodology and used the Zone method to measure their food making sure to eating the right amount of the right things. They were in the gym at least 3 times a week and supplemented with running or walking their little ones in a stroller.

Check out their before and after pictures and see what they have to say about their experience.

March – Transformation Challenge Results

Thoughts on the challenge, what you liked/didn’t like
I enjoyed doing the challenge and trying the Zone diet. I felt accountable throughout the process which helped me to stay on track. The hardest part for me was meal prep. Trying to prepare meals ahead of time for not only myself, but my husband too was difficult some days since he wasn’t really on the diet. I never really felt that I was on a diet during the challenge, and most of the time I had a hard time eating all of the suggested blocks.

What you will carry forward?
I will continue to come to CrossFit each week, and take with me all that I have learned from the Zone diet to continue working towards my goals of getting back in shape after pregnancy.

What was most challenging?
The most challenging part for me was meal prep and trying to diet while my husband was not. He did great eating the healthier meals I made, but overall prepping was my biggest challenge. On the days I wasn’t prepared, I felt those were the days I fell behind.

Did you meet or make progress toward your goals?
I most definitely made progress towards my goals. After having a baby 7 months ago now, my biggest goal was to lose the weight I had gained during pregnancy while toning up and building strength. I have about 5 more pounds to lose to be back to my pre pregnancy weight, and feel that I have definitely built up my strength during the challenge too. I can tell how much better I feel now, and look forward to seeing more progress.

Anything else you want to share?
I am really happy that I joined CrossFit. I enjoy coming to RVCF class each time, as well as all of the encouragement from Jake and the coaches.

Thoughts on the challenge, what you liked/didn’t like
Overall I thought this challenge went pretty well. I enjoyed going to CrossFit 2-3x/week and feeling my body get stronger. The Zone Diet was easy to follow, and didn’t have too many restrictions which made it easy when trying to cook for my husband and I. I did find it difficult at times to make dinners that were both appealing to him and wouldn’t take up too many blocks for myself. There wasn’t really anything about the challenge I disliked I think it went pretty well.

What you will carry forward?
Moving forward after this 3 month challenge I will continue going to CrossFit as well as staying active as much as possible. The Zone diet was easy to follow and I will continue keeping up with the carbs, fats and proteins when eating and planning meals.

What was most challenging?
The most challenging during the three months was prepping meals for the week, I would be really good some weeks but others just fell through and I would find myself prepping my breakfast and lunch in the morning. It was also challenging to measure out my food when we were not at home but after a while you got used to what the amount of food looked like. Overall I think diet was the most challenging but I understand that a healthy diet will get you results.

Did you meet or make progress toward your goals?
I am two pounds away from being at my pre-pregnancy weight. I lost inches and overall am very happy with my results. My overall appearance wasn’t just part of my goal, I also wanted to become stronger and over the last 3 months I was really able to see that. I am able to do at least 2 kipping pull-ups, do more then 10 double-unders in a row and lift heavier weights prior to starting CrossFit. I also am able to see a difference in the way my clothes fit and this to me is all great progress. I can’t wait to see what else I can do as more time passes and I continue working. Another big goal I had was to compete in a competition. I am currently doing the open and am so happy Jake pushed me to do it. It’s nerve racking to see what the workout is going to be but hearing everyone cheering each other on is such great encouragement to do better. I am sure as I get better and stronger I will want to do more competitions.

Anything else you want to share?
I am so happy I decided to join CrossFit, especially at RVCF. Everyone here is so nice and welcoming. I enjoy the atmosphere and encouragement you get when you are working out.
